In-house fire training courses

We are pleased to announce that we have two upcoming ‘in house’ basic fire training and fire warden training courses.

These courses are for those customers who have minimum numbers of staff requiring training, or would prefer to have staff trained away from their own premisis.

These are our standard fire training courses, which will be held at our offices on the following dates:

10am – Thursday 6th September 2018
10am – Wednesday 28th November 2018

(Course Time approx: 2 hours for basic fire training – 3 hours for fire warden training)

Full Fire Training Course Information:

Basic Fire Awareness Training Course

This course lasts approximately 2 hours, the details of the course are as follows:

Basic fire awareness presentation (in a class/meeting room), this session will cover the following areas:

  • The main causes of workplace fires and fire preventative strategies
  • Fire classification and the methods of extinguishing different fire types
  • Actions to take in the event of a fire
  • A discussion regarding local arrangements for your workplace

Live fire demonstration outside which will include the following:

  • Demonstration to consist of 4 fire scenarios and covering
  • Practical hands on experience of discharging a Water, Foam & CO2 fire extinguisher
  • Visual demonstration of the use of Powder & Wet Chemical fire extinguisher
  • Demonstration and practical training on the correct use of a Fire Blanket
  • Opportunity to put out a live fire using our specialist equipment

Fire Warden Course

The Fire Warden’s Course which includes basic fire awareness training, this course lasts approximately 3 hours, comprising of the following:

Basic fire awareness presentation (in a class/meeting room), this session will cover the following areas:

  • The role & responsibilities of a Fire Warden
  • The main causes of workplace fires and fire preventative strategies
  • Fire classification and the methods of extinguishing different fire types
  • Actions to take in the event of a fire
  • A discussion regarding local arrangements for your workplace

Live fire demonstration outside which will include the following:

  • Demonstration to consist of 4 fire scenarios and covering

Live demonstration is followed by another presentation covering the roles and responsibilities of the fire warden including the fire manager

  • The role & responsibilities of a Fire Warden
  • Evacuation strategies and sweep searching techniques
  • Fire safety checks and what is required to carry out the checks
